The New York State Executive Chamber is looking for a Video Producer/Editor to join our Digital-Creative Team. This team is responsible for managing and creating content for a variety of channels including, but not limited to social media, email, SMS, YouTube, website, and events. This position reports to the Director of Creative Development.

The Video Producer/Editor will be responsible for creating video content for Governor Kathy Hochul’s digital presence and for New York State. This content will inform New Yorkers about the many initiatives and policies that impact their daily lives as well as update them on emergencies, breaking news and more.

Duties to include:

• Producing and editing shortform and longform video content for digital and broadcast platforms.
• Covering events and breaking news to find the best soundbite and image from official State events to repurpose for digital use.
• Creating and pitching projects that will amplify the administration’s message and celebrate New York.
• Assist in shoots as necessary.
• Note: This role will sometimes involve being on call to work after typical work hours, including weekends.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have 3-5+ years' experience in video editing and production and/or digital video content creation
• Have exceptional editorial skills
• Be intimately familiar with various social media platforms (Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, etc.)
• Be up to date on the social media and digital trends of the moment
• Be able to share a portfolio of recent creative content ideas (either via professional or personal work)
• Have a great sense of organization, attention to detail, ability to act fast, and think on their feet
• Have a professional familiarity with content creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere Pro, and/or other graphic design and video editing software
