Job Summary Deliver sports news and stories accurately, clearly, and concisely and in an engaging manner across broadcast and multiple digital platforms. Principal Duties & Responsibilities Anchor main sportscasts and host a weekly sports show Contribute daily content for shows on KOIN+ streaming platform Drive digital engagement by posting relevant local sports stories on the website and social media Evaluate sports leads and tips to develop story ideas Gather and verify accurate information for stories through interviews and research Build a network of sources to keep the station ahead of competitors Present compelling, clear, creative, and accurate live shots Organize material and write articles based on collected details and information Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Demonstrated record of leadership and team‑building Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation Strong reporting skills Understanding of digital and social media importance Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills Promotes teamwork and maintains a cooperative attitude with all station personnel Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, or related field required; equivalent years of experience may substitute. Three (3) years of television anchoring or reporting experience preferred. Training & Equipment Operate newsroom computer systems. Work Environment & Physical Requirements High‑stress environment with deadline pressures and breaking news demands. Requires multi‑tasking, managing multiple projects, frequent changes in direction and priority. Travel may be required. Must be comfortable working in extreme outdoor temperatures. A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are required. Must be willing to work any shift, including overnights, early mornings, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
