Job Description

$B global industry leading plastics / packaging company seeks an energetic and technically oriented Sales Account Manager for a growing business unit. The company recently invested $100MM+ so new equipment and technology leading to new products for new market applications.

*** Please note this is a remote (home) based position. 30-50% travel mainly by car, but some by air so locations near major airports like Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Philadelphia, PA; Charlotte, NC; Louisville, KY would be a plus.

SUMMARY

The Sales Account Manager will be focused on national/global food, beverage and cpg customers as well as printers and converters of flexible plastic pkg. The position is valued by each customer as a key contributor to identifying areas for improvement and creating solutions.

The incumbent interacts with many functional groups throughout the company (working closely with the Logistics, Sales, Business, Finance, and Product Development), implements the business and pricing strategies, provides regular business communications, manages and investigates quality claims, develops business opportunities and business plans with a sense of urgency and completeness, and understands gross margins and their impact on the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes and sells existing and new products to meet corporate objectives in the North American region.
  • Identifies, evaluates, supports new product / new business development opportunities, and manages existing businesses by administering programs/products through rigorous reviews and communications.
  • Supports and administers the execution of plans, forecasts, inventories, pricing strategies, and trials.
  • Participates on cross-functional teams to deliver business objectives and products to market in identified growth areas.
  • Analyzes and documents competitive conditions and opportunities searching for new business potential within the current and new customer bases
  • Addresses customer complaints by coordinating resources through the organization to define root cause, implements needed corrective action and needed resolution.
  • Participates with the Business Leadership in the development of product strategies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Three years of industrial sales experience. Preferably within the plastics / packaging industry (food, beverage or cpg pkg knowledge desired).
  • Minimum 4 year undergraduate degree, preferably with concentration in Technical and/or Business Sciences
  • Strong sales skills and strategic thinker in a technical environment. Fuses together a mixed profile of technical and marketing knowledge
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in multi-cultural environments
  • Willingness to travel 30% to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to communicate at all functions of customers, including shop floor operators, engineers, purchasing, and leadership.
  • Well developed and proven fluency in English. Multilingual capabilities would be a benefit.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and relevant business operating systems
  • It would be desirable that the incumbent:
    • Knows the flexible films used in flexible pkg markets, converters, and end users
    • Knowledge of film converting or converters; printing (digital, flexo, gravure or offset), lamination, coating, labels(PSA, IML) desired.
